So you want to convert your Rear Drum Brakes to Rear Disc Brakes? Cool ! Rear Disc Brake do work extremely better than Rear Drum (Shoe) Brakes.
See the problem with Drum Brakes is that when it rains that drum brake assembly gets for of water and it's harder to stop (brakes work on friction). That's why we mainly use our front disc brakes on on rainy days to stop our bikes. It's not hard at all to switch from Rear Drum Brakes to Rear Disc Brake. The investment is a bit costly but it's worth every penny.
You need to change the follow parts:
1- First you need to change or modify the Handle Bars. You may be asking why? It's simple, The way the mounting is set up for the mirrors is little different fromt the handle bar for Front Disc/Rear Drum Brakes, then it is for Front Disc/ Rear Disc Brakes. The mirror mount for the will bump into or block the Rear Hydraulic Brake from being mounted. It's just too close to the mirror mount. So your going to have to do 2 things:
Either re-weld it, or buy a new or get a used handle Front Disc/ Rear Disc Brake Handle Bar which already has the conversion.
If you ask me, I would just purchase a new Front Disc/ Rear Disc Brakes Handle or find a used one. I'll tell you why; most of these Chinese scooter Chasis or Frames (body) are made from recycle metal, and make it quite dificult to apply any welding on them. The minute you spark (or activate) that welding stick its going to burn a hole right through the metal. Not unless you can find a really good welder. I would rather avoid the headaches and just buy a Front Disc/ Rear Disc Brakes Handle Bar.
2- Change your Drum Brake Assembly to a for 150cc and 125cc GY6 engine.
3- Change your Swing Arm (Drum), to a (Disc) for this modification. You can purchase a factory OEM Swing Arm, or get a Custom Chrome Swing Arm.
4- And last; a nice set of Custom to make your scooter look Awesome.
And your done. . .
